Encounter Camp

A new VBS experience for kids at Movement Church!
For years, many of our families have known our VBS as Kid Perfect. This year, we’re stepping into a new season with Encounter Camp — a name that reflects our heart to create space for kids to connect with God. Our vision is to lead kids into freedom through daily encounters with God. We want them to begin recognizing His presence, hearing His voice, and understanding their identity in Christ in age-appropriate but meaningful ways.

At Encounter Camp, kids can look forward to:

                                           Worship
                                      Time outdoors

  Games and team activities
     Creative, hands-on experiences
    Opportunities to build friendships

Bible teaching designed just for them

This is more than just a summer event — it’s a chance for kids to encounter God, make lasting memories, and be encouraged in their faith. Our desire to move beyond just a fun week on the calendar and create intentional space for kids to experience God in ways that are personal, meaningful, and lasting. We want every child who comes to feel welcomed, valued, and invited into a deeper relationship with Him.

Information for Parents & Guardians:

We’re so excited for your child to be part of Encounter Camp! Below are a few helpful details to help your family feel prepared for the week.

What to Wear
We recommend that kids wear comfortable play clothes each day.
Our schedule includes games, movement, and outdoor activities, so clothes may get a little messy. Think active, fun, and ready to play.

Sensory Support
We understand that new or high-energy environments can feel overwhelming for some children.

Headphones will be available for kids who may be sensitive to sound, and we have team members available to support children with sensory needs throughout the day. Our goal is to create an environment where every child feels safe, supported, and included.

Safety & Care
Your child's safety is of the utmost importance to us!

Children will be supervised at all times throughout the day.  We have specific adults assigned to escort those that need to use the restroom during their time with us. Only the most trusted are asked to do this task, as we know how important this issue is to us as parents as well.

The only adults allowed in the building during the length of the program have passed extensive background checks as a part of our team. We understand if you're new to our church, that you want to check it out. We have a Connections team that will be happy to give you a tour of our facilities when you arrive, should you ask for one.

Check-In & Pick-Up
At check-in, you will receive a matching security tag. Please keep this tag with you, as it will be required at pick-up each day. This helps us make sure every child is dismissed safely to the correct adult.

Additional Notes
Breakfast and lunch will be provided each day. Many activities will take place outdoors, so please plan for summer weather and send your child dressed comfortably for both indoor and outdoor fun. Please share any dietary or outdoor allergies upon registration.

More detailed information will be shared as we approach the week of Encounter Camp. Keep an eye out for a detailed email coming your way!
